5 moments from The Key

1.  When Daryl finally TALKS… to Rick about losing Carl .

Daryl is the perfect listener for Rick. This guy uses his ears way more than his mouth, but somehow we always know exactly what he is thinking. So when Daryl speaks, everyone listens and most of the time, it’s exactly what needs to be said. Case point: “It aint right and it aint fair” – But dammit if it was right and it was fair it wouldn’t be such next level addictive television.

2. When we think Rick may just take Negan out or at least a walker will bite him…

Rick goes into full throttle rampage mode… No plan. No strategy. No fucks given. Just right place right time and Negan must die. Rick’s poor marksmanship is all forgiven with BANG the whistling, BAM the reveal of Simon’s Garbage people genocide to old Neg’s and BANG when Rick picks up Lucille… in the dark… with the blood of the dead dripping off her. Given Rick’s power position it’s pretty ballsy of Negan to start yelling offers of negotiations for Rick to surrender, when it is Negan, unarmed, alone, in the dark, with god knows what lurking around him. Clearly Negan is the cat with nine lives (and so is Lucille) and doesn’t Rick know by now that if you don’t see them die then they are not truly gone?!

3. When Maggie listens to Carl and receives a key to the future…

Stop fighting… Carl’s message to Maggie. Just two simple words but in this new world order could mean the difference between life and death. Maggie takes the gamble aka trusts some random strangers called Georgie, Hilda and Midge (WTF) and just when we think  it’s going to bite her in the ass, things just work out! Well at least when it comes to feeding her hungry and working towards building a brighter future for her people. Question… who? and what? and why…?

4. When Simon assumes power, overthrows Negan’s plan and convinces the Saviors to wipe out the Hilltop in Negan’s name…

“Top Guy” has been wheedling his way out from under Negan’s thumb for a while now. One minute he suggests to Negan to move on…  move on to new weaker people and now the moving on becomes trying to take them all out altogether. He is the ultimate loose cannon and he has the perfect way to cause chaos and walk away with his hands clean, what a sick opportunist. The “I was told to do it” is an oldie but a goodie. There has been many a 2IC who has gone rogue and literally bitten the hand that feeds them, eh Dwight? Et Tu Brute? Buuuuuut, “I am Simon” just does not have the same ring to it.

5. When Negan awakes to Jadis’ holding a gun to his head… We DID NOT see that coming!

*Clap, clap, clap* Jadis you deserve a nice slow clap. Nice work. Seriously impressive rescue and kidnapping. MVP of Ep12.
