AHS: Apocalypse reveals Sarah Paulson’s mystery character

Glimpses of American Horror Story: Apocalypse continue to send chills across social media, with the show’s official Twitter account unveiling what appears to be Sarah Paulson’s new character, Venable.

Paulson will be playing three characters in the latest instalment of the fright-fest, having previously revealed she’ll be bringing back American Horror Story: Coven headmistress Cordelia Goode, and American Horror Story: Murder House medium Billie Dean Howard.

In the tweet, Paulson is featured in a gothic-style suit, overseeing a lottery to decide who will survive the impending apocalypse.

“Apocalypse” will stream on Foxtel and screen on showcase from Thursday, September 13 at 8.30pm AEST, express from the US.

Details about the new 10-part season are mostly under wraps, but we do know that it will be set in the near-distant future as the world is coming to an end, and is the long-awaited crossover of the previously mentioned Murder House and Coven, Seasons 1 and 3 respectively.

The stellar cast this season includes series regulars Evan Peters, as well as returning cast members Jessica Lange and Adina Porter, who both appeared in Murder House. Legendary rock singer Stevie Nicks will also feature, alongside Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy, all of whom starred in Coven. Billie Lourd, Cheyenne Jackson and Leslie Grossman from last season’s Cult are also confirmed to join.

Australian actor Cody Fern, who played David Madson in The Emmy-nominated FX series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, will appear for the first time in the new season series, along with Hollywood royalty Joan Collins and Billy Porter, who also stars Ryan Murphy’s critically acclaimed FX series Pose.

Murphy previously shared a pic of the show’s reunited coven, with the addition of Nicks.

If earlier teasers are anything to go by, we’re in for another terrifying season of the cult hit series.
