The first episode of season seven was definitely one for the girls. It was well and truly packed with total girl power! It was amazing to see the Lady of Bear Island stand up again and show her strength as a lead, and of course Sansa and Daenerys. Welcome back ladies. But the penultimate no questions asked, goes to the girl of many faces – Arya Stark!! We could not have opened on a better scene. Clever, clever girl. Straight away you’re able to work out that Arya is disguised Walter Frey! And with a click of his fingers, cups are passed around for a toast to celebrate the House of Frey. They stand together and they die together. One by one they keel over and she gets her vengeance on those that betrayed her family back during the tragic events of the Red Wedding.  It begins with poison, revenge and in this moment, with that smile and that music… season seven begins…

Straight into the music today, no cheeky poisoning… last week started so dramatically and then the rest of the episode was a ‘Where’s Wally’ of hidden tips for the eagle eyes to see what lies ahead for Westeros in the Game of Thrones. Our Stormborn queen assembles her nearest and most trustworthy together to question their loyalty. That in particular, Varys who by name and by nature has become famous for flip flopping alliances. Just like a game of Survivor Daenerys calls some sort of commitment to vote with her at tribal. Speaking of flip floppers, in walks the queen of changing sides, Melisandre …. Speaking…. Dothraki?  Aah High Valrian. We are going to need a new paragraph for this.
