Showcase in April

Grab some of that leftover Easter chocolate and get set to indulge in some truly great series this April on showcase.

Legion – Season 2

Based on the Marvel comics, Legion is the story of David Haller (Dan Stevens). Diagnosed as schizophrenic, he has struggled with mental illness since he was a child. Now in his 30s, he spends his days in the structured routine of a psychiatric hospital, spending time with talkative fellow patient Lenny (Aubrey Plaza).

Yet an encounter with beautiful new patient Syd (Rachel Keller) raises a new possibility: that the voices he hears and the visions he sees might be real.

And if that is true: perhaps his powers might be real as well?

He escapes the hospital to the safety of his sister Amy’s house. Syd introduces him to therapist Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), who, with a team of specialists, hope to explore and unlock his abilities.

Yet Bird and her team aren’t the only ones interested in Haller’s powers…

Legion returns with season 2 on Thursday April 5 at 8:30pm AEST – streamed on Foxtel Now and seen on Foxtel’s showcase, the new home of FX Originals.

The Americans – Season 6

The award-winning drama about the complex marriage of two KGB spies posing as Americans during the Cold War, returns for its sixth and final season from Wednesday, April 18 at 8.30pm AEST – streamed on Foxtel Now and seen on Foxtel’s showcase, the new home of FX Originals.

In this action-packed final season of THE AMERICANS, the arranged marriage of Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) grows more passionate and genuine by the day, but as the pressures and demands of the job grow heavier, the personal toll becomes almost too exhausting to bear. Having revealed their true identities to their teenage daughter Paige (Holly Taylor), Philip and Elizabeth’s ability to protect their cover and their family’s safety deteriorates. After a particularly fraught mission, Philip and Elizabeth decide to end their tour and take their family home to Russia.

For viewers wanting to catch up on the first five seasons of THE AMERICANS, every episode is currently available to stream through Foxtel On Demand and Foxtel Now.

Westworld – Season 2

The highly anticipated second season of HBO’s critically-acclaimed series Westworld is set to return for season two – with the first episode available to stream, the same time as the US, on Foxtel Now from 11.00am AEST on Monday, April 23.

Featuring an exceptional cast including Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, Thandie Newton Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris and Jeffrey Wright, the provocative Emmy-nominated dark odyssey explores the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin.

Set in the not-too-distant future, Westworld is a futuristic adventure park modelled after America’s Wild West. For over 30 years, guests have paid exorbitant amounts to be immersed in the Westworld universe, where every detail and scenario – including those involving the android ‘hosts’ that are virtually indistinguishable from humans – have been planned, scripted and executed by a team of brilliant scientists and programmers working in close proximity to the park. However, a group of the android hosts soon begin to deviate from their programmers’ carefully planned scripts, in a disturbing pattern of aberrant behaviour.
