Showcase in June

These are the biggest shows coming to your screen this month including Wentworth Season 6, The Affair Season 4 plus many many more…

Following season five’s jaw-dropping finale, season six resumes with almost all of Wentworth’s inmates and officers stunned by the apparent joint escape of Franky Doyle and Joan Ferguson. As Sonia Steven’s life and Vera Bennett’s career hang in the balance, Kaz Proctor steels herself for Top Dog duties again and the truth surrounding the Freak’s demise weighs heavily on Will Jackson and Jake Stewart. Boomer pieces together the events of Sonia’s now apparent poisoning and Liz is targeted, while Allie finds solice for a short moment in avenging Bea’s death – however, peace is only fleeting behind the walls of Wentworth.

Wentworth Season 6 premieres Tuesday June 19 8.30pm EST only on Foxtel’s showcase channel or stream it on Foxtel Now.

At once deeply observed and intriguingly elusive, The Affair explores the emotional effects of an extramarital relationship. Noah is a New York City schoolteacher and budding novelist with a wife of twenty years and four children. Alison is a young waitress and wife from Montauk at the end of Long Island, trying to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragedy. The provocative drama unfolds separately from multiple perspectives, using the distinct memory biases of each character to tell the story.

The Affair Season 4 premieres Tuesday June 19 9.30pm EST only on Foxtel’s showcase channel or stream it on Foxtel Now.

In an idyllic American fishing town, Sheriff Jude Miller’s quiet is upended when hundreds of bodies wash up on a beach with 47 survivors. At the site of the event, he’s met by Department of Homeland Security Agent, Emma and together they interview the survivors who say they are Americans, fleeing a war… a war that won’t happen for another 250 years. Conspiracy theories begin to take root but as the Feds continue to monitor the survivors, it becomes clear that this most unusual group of visitors will disrupt the lives of the people in this peaceful town… and that their presence could ultimately put the whole world in grave danger.

The Crossing Season 1 premieres Monday June 25 at 9.30pm EST only on Foxtel’s showcase channel or stream it on Foxtel Now.

The series centres on Sam Fox, a single, working actor with no filter raising her three daughters, Max, Frankie and Duke in Los Angeles. She’s mom, dad, referee and the cops. Sam also watches out for her mother, Phil, an English expatriate, who lives across the street. Sam is flawed and fierce with her love for her daughters, and her own mother as well, sometimes heaping the love on when she feels guilty. Sam’s just trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also – just maybe – squeeze in some private time once in a while.

Better Things Season 2 premieres Thursday June 21 at 9.30pm EST only on Foxtel’s showcase channel or stream it on Foxtel Now.
