A rich kid, expert piano player. It’s his first tour. Jarrod grew up in wealth, and went to the best schools. His mother is a doctor, his father a partner in law firm. He was deeply affected by a visit to the Gallipoli dawn service on a school trip to Europe. Jarrod’s parents think the Army is a phase and he will grow out of it, but they are mistaken. How can he tell them he has found his calling as a common solider? And worse, how can he tell them he has killed – and that he was good at doing it, and that he liked it?
