Jay Ryan most recently appeared on US screens playing a leading role on the six-part series Mary Kills People. He is currently in Canada shooting the second series. Jay also appeared in the first series of Jane Campion’s Emmy-nominated mini-series Top of the Lake. Prior to that Jay starred on the popular CW series Beauty and The Beast, as Vincent Keller, The Beast. His previous television credits include recurring characters in Network Ten’s Offspring and the Fox series Terra Nova, executive produced by Steven Spielberg, as well as regular roles in the Nine Network’s mini-series Sea Patrol, Network Ten’s Neighbours and the acclaimed New Zealand series Go Girls.
Jay’s feature credits include Lou opposite John Hurt. He also appeared in the short film Franswa Sharl, which was awarded the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival and Best Australian Short Film at the Melbourne International Film Festival. Jay has appeared in numerous theatre productions including an international tour with John Cleese in Seven Ways To Skin an Ocelot. He also starred in The Packer, a one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival that went on to tour New Zealand, Australia and Los Angeles. The Packer was nominated for Best International Contribution to Los Angeles Theatre at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
