In July, the acclaimed HBO original series Looking concludes with an all-new 84-minute movie. An emotional and fulfilling wrap-up to the stories of Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez), and Dom (Murray Bartlett), the film begins with Patrick, who has been living in Denver for almost a year, returning to San Francisco to celebrate a momentous event with his old friends.
The visit is a trip down memory lane for the guys, especially for Patrick, who finds himself still drawn to former flame Richie (Raúl Castillo), while being vexed by memories of his crash-and-burn relationship with his former boss Kevin (Russell Tovey).
Meanwhile, Agustín wonders if the conventional life he’s been embracing these past several months with Eddie (Daniel Franzese) is really what he wants, while Dom (now sporting a full beard) enjoys a level of success with his Portuguese peri peri chicken establishment – perhaps at the expense of his personal life. As Dom’s bestie Doris (Lauren Weedman) prods him to get back into dating, she anticipates changes in her own future with Malik (Bashir Salahuddin).
With characteristic naturalism and humor, Looking: The Movie focuses on the recent dilemmas and decisions facing these appealing and familiar characters, as they continue their shared search for happiness, intimacy and fulfillment.
