Don Hany has been one of Australian television’s most popular faces since he first appeared in the late 90’s and has gone on to work extensively overseas.
Don is known for the lead role of ‘Zane Malik’ in the hit SBS series East West 101. Most recently he appeared in the Australian comedy feature Ali’s Wedding and will next be seen in the Sky One/Cinemax series 6 of Strike Back as ‘Omair Idrisi’.
Selected television credits include Devil’s Playground, The Broken Shore, Serangoon Road, Jack Irish: Black Tide and Rake. Internationally, Don was most recently seen in NBC’s television drama Heartbeat, Warriors and the SYFY miniseries Childhood’s End.
Don’s feature film credits include Healing, the multi-award winning US telemovie Winning The Peace, for which Don won Best Actor at the 2005 Methodfest awards. In 2010 Don won the TV Week Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actor for the role in East West 101. He received AFI nomination in 2008 and 2009 for Best Lead Actor in a TV Drama and in 2011 was nominated for the TV Week Silver Logie for Most Popular Actor for his roles in Tangle and Offspring. In 2012, Don was nominated for the AACTA for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama (East West 101).
